Directing for Beginners and Actors This workshop will teach the fundamentals of directing for those interested not only in becoming directors or improving their own directing skill set, but also from an actors point of view to better understand the director’s intent for vision, style, and storytelling. For directors, this workshop will teach you techniques and guidelines to better frame your pictures on stage, create more believable moments, and excel in the job of storytelling. For actors, this workshop will introduce you to the mechanics of the director’s mission to create a more collaborative effort between you and your directors while also being able to be ahead of the game, offering strategies and stage presence basics that will make you a pleasure to work with both on stage and off. The workshop will cover the following:

Jeff Lowe has been a director and actor in the Greater Orange County Area for the better part of 15 years, studying at Cal State Fullerton. Jeff Lowe is one of the Founding Company Members of Alchemy Theatre Company which is coming up on its 6th year of providing theatre to our community. Jeff has worked at nearly every theatre in Orange County and enjoys improving both his acting and directing tool box by working with as many people he can.
